There is no denying - Angie Greaves has presence. If her natural, easy charm, quick wit and open friendliness do not grab you then her brilliant smile and seriously sultry voice certainly will.
London born Angie started her media career in 1982 as a BBC Administrator at Television Centre. By 1986 she had moved to London’s top commercial station, Capital Radio, where she completely mesmerised her colleagues with her mischievous sense of humour and infectious laughter. In fact, it was during one of these moments that she was “discovered”. Having heard Angie fooling around in an American accent, DJ David “Kid” Jensen coaxed her into the studio to do some voice overs. From that moment, Angie was hooked - she had found her true vocation.
Since then, Angie has excelled in her craft and has produced and presented many long running, popular radio shows. Between 1992 and 1997, Angie presented the “Angie Greaves Breakfast Show” on Choice FM, London’s first urban radio station. An incredible coup for the South London based radio station as, not only was Angie’s show the most popular in their schedule, but they also saw their listening figures treble as a direct result.
Angie joined the BBC in 1997 and presented “Angie’s Sunday Magazine Show” on BBC London Live and the weekly “Angie Greaves Music Show” for BBC Three Counties Radio. Her uniquely innovative format, which combines popular urban music, celebrity interviews and topical and informative comment, has been a sure-fire recipe for success.
Angie worked at BBC Manchester for 6 months in 2002 where she presented the weekday Drive Time show on BBC Commonwealth Games Radio. Needless to say athletes from all countries of the Commonwealth as well as officials were completely blown over by this effervescent lady. More recently she presented the fast moving lunch time show on Radio Jackie which with Angie’s combination of flair and energy made competition winners feel as though they were winning the world when they were in fact winning a CD!
In the UK Angie can currently be heard on London's
Magic 105.4fm where she presents Weekend Mellow Magic. She also has a show on London's premier talk station
LBC 97.3fm presenting the afternoon slot from 2pm till 4pm which she will continue to do until 2nd January 2006.
