Debenhams Drive Thru Valentines Shopping

Drive-Thru-4-770x470

This day and age we’re so “last minute dot com”. We are so busy with life and all the things that go with it, we rarely have time to shop.

Enter  Debenhams. They’re bringing the world’s very first drive thru for last minute Valentine’s Shopping.

I think this is a great idea. And Debenhams is seriously funny – check out the press release below. Watch for funny catch phrases like “Valen-time poor” and “lingerie lingerer”. Brilliant marketing.

ROSES ARE RED, VIOLETS ARE BLUE.

NO TIME TO SHOP? TRY THE DRIVE THRU!

Those looking for fast love this Valentine’s Day need look no further as Debenhams unveils the world’s first department store Drive Thru. The bespoke gift service aims to take the stress out of the shopping experience during this sentimental time of year for those who claim they are Valen-time poor.

Piloted outside the Debenhams store in Manchester’s Trafford Centre, the Debenhams Drive Thru comes to the rescue for Brits who are either filled with dread at the embarrassing thought of being a labelled a ‘lingerie lingerer‘, claim they don’t have the time to shop, or don’t want to be seen bumbling through the bra section.

With a choice of five luxury, pre-selected gifts, guaranteed to woo that special someone, the innovative shopping experience guarantees shoppers will bag a winning present before the big day. Customers simply order and pay at the first window, drive to the second window, where one of the prestigious personal shopping staff will hand over the goods all without leaving the comfort of their car.

Christine Morgan from Debenhams said:

“An extension to the current personal shopping service, our Drive Thru is the perfect solution for all those who have no clue what to buy, are strapped for time, or are cynical about Valentine’s Day but secretly want to get someone a gift.”

“Last year, reports stated that the average Brit spent £45 on gifts for Valentine’s Day*. With gifts ranging from a £28.25 lingerie set, to a bottle of £58 personally engraved perfume or aftershave, we’ve covered all bases this year.”

The full range of Debenhams Drive Thru gifts includes:

Nine by Savannah Miller lingerie set in red – £28.25

Calvin Klein 3 pack of cotton stretch trunks – £41

Viktor & Rolf Flower Bomb Bloom Eau De Toilette (50ml) – £58 or Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Eau De Toilette (50ml) £52

B By Ted Baker chemise – £30

Moet & Chandon Imperial Rose Champagne – £48

Following the pilot Drive Thru service for Valentine’s Day and customer feedback, similar services are planned to roll out across more Debenhams stores for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas and other gifting occasions in 2017. The Drive Thru experience is open for a limited time only on Tuesday 7th February.

What do you think? Personally I think it’s brilliant! Hit me up on Facebook and Twitter and let’s talk about it!
