Angie Greaves is a first class Compere who takes delight in taking second place to those she is presenting on stage. Angie knows it’s not about her, but the subject and the reason why people have parted with their money. Having said that she is also aware that the methods she uses to present the subject on stage can either enhance the performance or leave the subject with a lot of work to do.
This year saw the second Caribbean Showcase organised by the Mayor’s office, and once again me Robbie Gee really had a ball of a time.
Hyde Park was absolutely packed this year with representations from Tourists Boards throughout the Caribbean, Caribbean dancing lessons, food tasting, face painting, story telling, you name it there was something for everyone to do. The hub of entertainment this year came from Raymond and Co who sang their hearts out and brought some gospel to the event – you couldn’t help but tap your feet and say Amen!!

Miss Dynamite captivated the crowd and we knew she would.
However, the 2 artists who stole the show and rounded the day up were Alison Hinds formerly of Barbados based band Square One, and Kymani Marley son of the Reggae Legend Bob.
Alison brought sunshine and soca with her, and poured out the Caribbean spirit which completely enveloped the Park. She left us on high and whether you wanted to dance or not, you just couldn’t stand still. Her hypnotic vibes - and those Caribbean hips - providing the extra touches to her set, together with dancers and carnival stilts man!!
Kymani Marley - what a lovely man!
