Angie Greaves can currently be heard every day on Magic 105.4's Drive Time Show. The Emma Award winning and Sony nominated rising star is not only the first female Drive Time DJ, but also the very first female presenter on London's No. 1 commercial station, Magic 105.4FM.
London born Angie is a true inspiration within the media world, reaching this accolade through sheer hard work and determination. Greaves started her media career in 1982 as an administrator at the BBC Television Centre. 4 years later, she moved to London's top commercial station at that time, Capital Radio, which is where her journey truly begins.
The saying ‘you always find what you are looking for when you least expect it' certainly rang true for Angie. She had no idea that clowning around the office in an American accent would lead to being ‘discovered' by the renowned DJ David ‘The Kid' Jensen. Her mesmerizing voice, mischievous sense of humour and infectious laughter helped her find her way into the recording studio to do some voice overs, after some coaxing from ‘The Kid'. From that moment, Angie knew she was home. She found her true calling and has never looked back!
The next stop on the Angie Greaves express was presenting the ‘Angie Greaves Breakfast Show' on Choice FM, London's first urban radio station. From 1992 - 1997, the south London based radio station could not have been more thrilled as not only was Angie's show the most popular in their schedule, but they also saw their listening figures treble!!!
In 1997 Angie continued to win the hearts of her listeners when presenting ‘Angie's Sunday Magazine Show' on BBC GLR and a weekly ‘Angie Greaves Music show' for BBC Three Counties. She later went onto varying length stints at Jazz FM, and LBC.
The Angie Greaves Express sped through the ranks and is now firmly stationed at London's No.1 commercial station, Magic 105.4FM. Angie was first asked to DJ the weekend show ‘Mellow Magic' and within no time had wowed listeners with her unique calming voice, transforming the show into becoming a much loved weekend tradition for her fans! A connoisseur of her trade, Greaves managed to take complete control of the 'More Music, Less Talk' format on Magic and became market leader while presenting Mellow Magic, achieving higher listener figures than Radio 2!
Her incredible ability to increase show ratings and be the listeners' favourite DJ did not go unnoticed by the Management at Magic, who realised that they were not capitalising on the talent right under their noses. Angie Greaves then became the first female daytime presenter and can now be heard every day from 5pm - 8pm on the More Music Drive Time. However, her weekend listeners fear not, Angie is one to never forget those who helped and supported her throughout her career- so continues to present a Saturday mid-morning show and daily Love Letters.
Angie's well recognised voice has been described as the ‘smoothest and sexiest in the business' and can be heard on many commercials, documentaries, animation and corporate projects. You may also frequently recognise her voice on the Biography Channel on SKY.
Angie lives in Surrey and is a wife and mother of 2 girls aged 10 and 13years. Her two beautiful daughters are both very keen voice artists and also love the theatre. Watch this space, they may follow in their mother's footsteps!!
